The Monetize Platform is an advanced buy-side and sell-side advertising technology platform that enables buyers and sellers to access and trade premium inventory in a transparent and streamlined environment.
Microsoft is hiring an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Auction Logic team, specifically focused on build, test, deploy, and monitoring.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will
- Lead the cross-team engineering efforts to build business critical products for publishers and buyers on the Monetize platform.

About the team:
The mission of the Auction Logic team is to create the digital marketplace with a purpose of accurately connecting advertisers (buyers) and publishers (sellers) in the most effective and efficient way possible. The team is responsible for building and operating a set of core components of Monetize real-time platform, specifically the distributed set of servers that runs an auction for every ad impression, delivers the ad content, and performs all the necessary accounting. The Monetize real-time platform is a large-scale distributed platform operating under strict real-time constraints, responding to and executing real-time, dynamic auctions in less than 100 milliseconds. In the past few years, we’ve grown from processing 300k QPS to over 5 million QPS for an approximate total of 100 billion requests per day. These events generate more than 150 TB of new data every day. Engineers work on the real-time components to optimize our software for performance, space, and algorithmic efficiency. The application that processes all those requests, impression bus, is among the responsibilities of the Auction Logic team. You will provide solutions to help connect advertisers and publishers in the digital marketplace as well as resolve complex technical issues that arise because of the immense scale of our platform.
About the job:
As a technical leader you’ll design and implement solutions that span multiple applications on the real time platform, are high quality, require hard real time constraints, are easy to operate and maintain, and make the lives of product engineers easier. You will own or influence significant parts of the platform and allied areas. You will work closely with other engineers and our product teams, to not only make these systems go faster and handle more and more data, but also to build revolutionary new products for our clients. responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing scalable solutions including new features and enhancements of our Platform.
- Participating in and helping lead planning sessions with Product Management and Engineering team leads to constructing feature requirements and specifications.
- Produce prototype features quickly and participate in gathering feedback from clients.
- Bring innovation to the team in new features, improving build processes and product development lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to increase code efficiency, maintainability and robustness.
- Support and debug production level issues and provide fixes in an expedient manner.
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices in software development

- Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.

Responsibilities
- Identity strategy & architecture: Define the end‑to‑end identity vision for consumer Copilot and MAI, covering user/account models, sign‑in, session management, token issuance/validation, service‑to‑service auth, and cross‑device experiences.
- Cross‑surface platform leadership: Drive common authentication/SSO patterns and SDKs for Windows, Edge, web, iOS, and Android; ensure seamless UX and consistent security controls across consumer surfaces and modalities.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, security, privacy, and identity teams across Copilot, MAI and IDNA to drive improvements in authentication, identity, and security. Influence technical direction and best practices across a large, distributed system, ensuring alignment and adoption of key initiatives.
- Establish, monitor, and continuously improve key authentication metrics across Copilot and MAI. Collaborate with engineering, product, and identity teams to align on a unified ground truth and leverage dashboards for ongoing measurement and root cause analysis
- Align with central Microsoft Account roadmaps, influence platform capabilities, and land them in Copilot and MAI consumer scenarios at scale.
- Define and document authentication patterns and requirements for AI-powered, agentic flows. Ensure these patterns address novel risks, support secure delegation, and enable safe orchestration of actions across devices and services.

- Partnership Development – establish and cultivate relationships with leaders of internal teams, attend, support and run executive-level meetings with internal and external partners. Develop and own individual partner relationships from first contact through to in-market execution. This will involve regular travel within the US, and occasional travel overseas.

Copilot is evolving into an agentic system that can plan, reason, and execute actions across tools, data, and services. Securing such a system cannot rely on static controls, offline review, or policy‑only enforcement. It requires runtime defenses that adapt to intent, behavior, and context as the system operates.
Copilot Security and Privacy is responsible for building these defenses directly into Copilot. Our work focuses on new security primitives for agentic AI, including runtime misuse detection, adaptive guardrails, containment and isolation mechanisms, and feedback‑driven control systems informed by offensive security research.
We are hiring a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to own the end‑to‑end delivery of these capabilities. This is a deeply technical execution role for someone who can operate at the boundary of security engineering, AI research, and platform systems—turning ambiguous threat models into shippable, operable defenses deployed in a globally scaled AI product.
This role is not about process, governance, or coordination. The TPM is accountable for making complex systems land in production, under real‑world adversarial pressure.
Most security roles protect systems after they exist. This role helps define how agentic AI systems defend themselves while they operate.
You will shape how Copilot detects misuse, enforces boundaries, and recovers safely in real time—working directly on the mechanisms that make autonomy deployable at global scale. The impact is immediate, technical, and measurable in production behavior.

- Partner with security engineers and researchers to translate offensive security insights and red‑team findings into production features.
- Make judgment calls about enforcement boundaries, degradation strategies, and isolation guarantees.
- Drive Cross‑Cutting Technical Execution
- Coordinate delivery across security engineering, AI research, platform/runtime teams, and Copilot product surfaces.
- Own dependency management, sequencing, and delivery risk for systems that are tightly coupled and cannot be built independently.
- Resolve technical and organizational tradeoffs where ownership boundaries are unclear and failure modes are novel.
- Ensure Operability at Runtime
- Define what “working” means for threat defenses: detection quality, false‑positive tolerance, performance impact, and blast‑radius containment.
- Ensure defenses are measurable, testable, and observable in production.
- Lead learning loops from live incidents, near‑misses, and adversarial testing back into system design.
Qualifications
