Attackers attempt to create billions of bot accounts daily on Microsoft platforms to perform phishing, spam and a variety of attacks. Attackers also run International Revenue Share Fraud (IRSF) against any public voice/SMS services. Our team builds both detections and blocking mechanisms against all the above attacks, in particular, focusing on fighting fraud. We constantly investigate the most advanced nation state attacks, and understand the latest techniques deployed by the most sophisticated attackers. We develop detections through training machine learning models, using threat intelligence signals as input, aggregated across entire Internet. We build state of the art machine learning platform for both training, deployment and monitoring. Our machine learning models protect billions of Microsoft users in real-time. Responsibilities
Our team is responsible for the Microsoft’s defenses against large scale signup and telecom attacks on Microsoft infrastructure. We leverage signals for a variety of 1P and 3P partners and build highly resilient systems to provide defence in depth against attacks scaling up to a billion requests per day.
- Work with Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Partners to deliver sets of features with the right overall design and architecture.
- Proficiency in dealing with ambiguity, problem solving and rapid iteration
- Own and deliver complete feature areas and large-scale solutions including design, architecture, implementation, testability, debugging, and shipping with secure long term support.
- Write clean well-thought-out code with an emphasis on quality, performance, simplicity, durability, scalability, reusability, and maintainability.
- Be committed to delivering the best experience for our customers and partners, and then iterate based on qualitative and quantitative feedback.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Software engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and understand key business needs in line with competing priorities and apply the right technology and implementation to the solution.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, coding patterns, and testing practices.
- Strong industry experience collaborating with others on designing, developing, testing, and shipping solutions to large scale technical problems.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

- You will be designing and implementing new features to support customer requirements as well as continuously improving the quality and reliability of the update stack client code responsible for discovery, installation and lifecycle of updates to the operating system.
- You will work with other teams across WSD and Windows to design and build features that enable the most efficient and seamless way to update their components to bring to market the latest in innovation including ML/AI models, Applications, and security updates. As we look toward a new future with Agentic AI and AI Orchestration, we will be looking for you to bring new thinking and ideas as we move forward.
- You will design, test and develop these features based on internal and external customer requirements leveraging a fast-paced quarterly planning cycle. Lots of opportunity to have organizational impact by collaborating, innovating and building the next set of internal processes and tools to support fast yet reliable shipping of new code to our validation rings and retail customers.
- Address security vulnerabilities and at the same time build resilient architecture for your components in today’s ever increasing security focused landscape.
